Awesome video from Rob Bell, yet again…

Isn’t it interesting that what we do to calm ourselves down is to breathe deeply…Take a deep breath?

Check out this fantastic video:

Doesn’t It Often Feel Just Like This?

May 29, 2008 by KimberlyE · 7 Comments

What was your workday like today?

You may have gotten up late and had to wait for the shower at your home.

You may have hit an ugly traffic jam, or got cut off by an inconsiderate driver.

Were you treated rudely at the bank? Did you get irritated by a neighbor?

Watch this video that I was “stumbled”…I think you’ll see that it is so often the case in everyone’s day-to-day lives:

Also, I hope you get to check out my blog post from the beginning of April on a very similar topic – Being Kind…Today!

Ever Thought of Going on a Christian Cruise?

April 28, 2008 by KimberlyE · 5 Comments

I have been looking at cruises lately, when I came across this Christian Cruise that sails the Mediterranean and follows in the Footsteps of Paul on a privately chartered luxury yacht.

Christian CruiseThere is one of these Christian Cruises per year. This year it leaves from the USA July 18th and goes till July 26th, unless you choose the extended to Malta, which goes to July 30th.

You will be toured through the Mediterranean islands guided by Bible Explorer Bob Cornuke and other Great Bible teachers.

The tour sites include Mars Hill and the Parthenon in Athens, ruins of Pergamum in Dikili, Kusadasi beaches with a trip to Ephesus and even enjoy a teaching from the same ampitheater where Paul spoke to the Ephesians.

Visit the Island of Patmos and Paul’s cave, and a full day visit to the Island of Santorini, considered the most beautiful island in the world, and visit the Pompeii of the Read more

Spirituality – What Is It? and How Can You Find It?

August 18, 2007 by Kenney · Leave a Comment

Today, I was out watering the yard and a Lady came up to me and after an introduction she asked me this…

what is Spirituality? I had just woken up and was trying to get my bearings about me so I said to her you tell me what you think and then I’ll respond. So she opened her bible and read Matthew 5:3. “Happy are those conscious of their spiritual need.” And that was it.

Inside I smiled because, yes, that is a scripture out of the bible, but that doesn’t define spirituality. If you were a lay person who knew nothing about the bible and someone told you that, that wouldn’t help you understand spirituality. That would only tell you that you need to be aware of it and doing that brings you happiness.

So I told her, by the way her name happen to be Esther, that I woke up this morning and the first words out of my mouth were “Good morning Lord”. I told Esther that that’s what makes Jesus so awesome. You can have a personal relationship with Him. At any time I can call on His name and He’ll answer.

I then went on to tell Esther that we always talk about working out. You know, to get in good physical shape and to be strong and healthy. We always work out our physical self, but that is not the only part of us. We also have to work out the spiritual side of us. To make “him” strong and healthy too. You need spiritual exercise.

I said that we work out our “spiritual man” by spending time talking with God, spending time in prayer, and reading the word of God. That is how we meet our “spiritual need” that was mentioned in Matthew 5:3 above. So, that when you recognize that you are made up of more than just physical body and you become conscious of your spiritual man and that he has a spiritual need that you should meet everyday just as you do your physical needs, then you have “found spirituality” and you’ll know true happiness.

There is an important note here. You can not meet spiritual needs with physical actions. You can only meet spiritual needs with spiritual actions. Spiritual actions are having dialogue with God. Spending time with the Holy Ghost. Spending time with Jesus.

So, then she said that that was the best definition she had heard all day. Anyway, I came in the house feeling all fired up now. She had got me to talking about My King, My God, My Lord (don’t worry he’s yours to, but it’s personal remember) so I did some more research and wrote this post too.

Here’s what I found in the research…

Spirituality is defined as “sensitivity or attachment to religious values” and “the quality or state of being spiritual”. And such terms as “spirituality”, “being spiritual”, or “being spiritual-minded” are viewed as synonymous.

So think of it this way, an individual who is skillful in business affairs is considered to be “business-minded”, so a person who is skillful in spiritual affairs is considered to be “spiritual-minded”.

What does it mean to be skillful in spiritual affairs? It’s really as simple as this, spend time with God, Jesus, and in the Holy Spirit and keep the new commandment, “I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. (John 13:34). This is further explained here…”You must love the lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind. And, Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Luke 10:25-37)

When you become good at building a relationship with the God head, and in the areas of love then you are becoming “spiritual-minded”.

The Battle is in the Mind…Win!

To Your Immediate and Lasting Success,

Kenney Edwards Jr. :)
