How To Get To Heaven
July 23, 2008 by Kenney · 3 Comments
He Was Assured Heaven
Luke 23:39-43
One of the criminals hanging beside him scoffed, “So you’re the Messiah, are you? Prove it by saving yourself – and us, too, while you’re at it!”
But the other criminal protested, “Don’t you fear God even when you are dying? We deserve to die for our evil deeds, but this man hasn’t done anything wrong.”
Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.”
And Jesus replied, “I assure you, to day you will be with me in paradise.
How To Go To Heaven
John 3:16
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”

Fear Of Rejection – Why We Fear The Word NO
August 19, 2007 by Kenney · Leave a Comment
Have you ever wanted to go to someone you thought was soooo fine and chickened out?
Have you ever needed to ask someone for something that you really needed, but you decided not to? Have you ever done something that you knew you didn’t want to do or wouldn’t normally do alone, but where with some friends or a crowd and did it anyway?
Why are parent these days scared to tell their kids No? Have you ever committed to something you knew “dog-on-well” you had no intentions of ever really wanting to do or take part in?
If you have answered yes to any of these questions, then you have dealt with the fear of rejection.
Why is it that we fear this word? We fear not only to use the word, but also to hear it said to us.
* Is it because it makes us feel unworthy of love?
* Is it because we have a desire to please others?
* Is it because we have a lack of confidence in ourselves?
In many cases it can be a combination of all three.
But in most cases if you had a strong understanding and confidence in who you are you would be able to face the word no just fine.
When I looked up the definition of the word no on Dictionary.com the first definition they gave me was:
* a negative used to express dissent, denial, or refusal, as in response to a question or request
That’s the problem right there!
We have this conditioned feeling or response that the word no is always really Negative.
Hearing the word just tears us apart and we feel down and rejected. We feel as though we’re not good enough. We end up going overboard to try and please people. Do you know that the feeling, for many people, is so strong that they prefer not to go after what they want in life because the fear of “rejection” over shadows their dreams?
So how do you overcome the fear of rejection?
It first starts by understanding that these simple truths:
* You are worthy of love…unconditional full hearted, love.
* You can’t please everyone…and that’s OK.
* You are a special person with unique traits and you should take confidence in that.
It starts with you. When you realize that life is short and that we are all different and unique, and you walk with confidence in yourself realizing that you can’t please everyone and that that is ok, then you find it a lot more freeing to hear the word no. It’s really not that bad. Lighten up and live a little.
And more importantly in starts with you understanding who you are in Christ. With having confidence that God is with you and that He Loves You With All His Heart no matter what your situation, where you come from, or what you think about yourself.
Find your confidence in Him. For you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. In him you are a conqueror. If Christ be for you, who can be against you.
Look when you learn to walk in love, and let that love, the love of God, shine through you, you’ll find great peace, happiness, and the fear will go away. Just tell it to go away, and use the authority that God has given you through the Name of Jesus.
To Your Immediate and Lasting Success,
Kenney Edwards Jr.
